BBC Creative Archive
What is It?
The Creative Archive is a project by the BBC to make their back archives available over the internet. The important question is in what form such content is to be made available. Friends of the Creative Domain (FCD) has been organized to support and encourage the BBC in its efforts to make the archive available in as open form as possible. In particular we seek to have the principal of an archive that is open for non-commercial use enshrined in the BBC's new charter. For more information on the archive and the issues surrounding it see this page.

How can I get involved?
Friends of the Creative Domain (FCD) has been organized by various groups (see the about page.) to support the plans for an open Creative Archive. There are various things you can do to support this effort:
-
Make your views known, for example you could write to your MP. This is extremely valuable way of demonstrating support for an open Creative Archive.
-
Join the creative-friends mailing list for discussion of this project, which you
can sign up to here.
-
Tell others about the Creative Archive and Friends of the Creative Domain. Encourage them to write in support of an open archive
